The One Who Waits for Me by Lori Copeland
As a Southerner, I was impressed with Lori's depiction of the South after the War Between the States. She dealt impressively with the various races found in North Carolina as sell as with the different social groups. This was a read well worth the time invested in reading it. I highly recommend it to any one interested in the South, The War Between the States, relations between Native Americans and white settlers, and those who just want a good romance.
Wings of a Dream by Anne Mateer
WINGS OF A DREAM is a wonderfully written story of the growth and maturing of a young lady during the trying times of WWI and the Spanish Influenza outbreaks of 1918 and 1919. It is a look at the lives of those who had loved ones overseas and their struggles. Well written and engaging, I would encourage you to read this book for the historical merit as well and the literary experience.
Her Christmas Cowboy by Brenda Minton
Brenda takes us on another visit to Dawson, OK. This time she drops us right into the middle of the active Cooper family at Christmas in her portion of CHRISTMAS GIFTS (one of LI's December offerings). Growning up an only child Elizabeth Hardin has no clue how to deal with all the Coopers and their zest for life. Watching her and Travis find their way through the new places they face is a wonderful reminder of why we all need traditions all the time but especially at Christmas.
Small Town Christmas by Gail Gaymer Martin
From the first scene in the story SMALL TOWN CHRISTMAS where we meet the adorable twins to the closing at the Christmas Eve service, Gail's portion in CHRISTMAS GIFTS (one of LI's December offerings) keeps you engaged and entertained. It is the wonderful story of a heart-broken family that gets its heart patched up. Take time to read this story to remind you of some of the special blessings of Christmas.
